Religious schools must be established in Azerbaijan, director of the Institute for Human Rights of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, MP Ayten Mustafayeva told media today.
"To wear the hijab is a private matter for people in Azerbaijan," she said. "However I think that parents who want their children to go to school wearing the hijab must send them to religious schools."
While responding to a question about the lack of religious schools in Azerbaijan, the MP stressed that it is important to establish these schools in the future.
She said that a school uniform has been introduced at secondary schools today and this must be observed.
