Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 14 / Trend M. Aliyev /
It is proposed to increase the state funds allocated to non-government organizations (NGO), operating abroad, to protect Azerbaijan's national interests.
Chairman of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the Azerbaijani President, MP Azay Guliyev made this proposal while discussing the state budget for the next year.
He added that the Azerbaijani President authorized the Council this year to finance the projects of foreign NGOs.
"It is important to protect and ensure the national interests," he said. "It would be appropriate to increase the funds allocated to the Council for this purpose during the repeated discussion of the budget."
Guliyev informed MPs with the proposals to solve the problems in the education sector.
Providing teachers with a status of a civil servant can contribute to solving these problems, MP said.
"A relevant concept on providing teachers with the status of a civil servant has been prepared," he said. "If this issue is resolved, teachers' financial position may be improved."
Guliyev has put forward a proposal to reduce the difference between regions and Baku, as well as the amount of subsidies allocated to the regions.
"Sumgayit and Absheron region have already abandoned the subsidies," he said. "I hope other regions will abandon the subsidies and will increase the share in the GDP in the future."
