According to the data provided by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, in January to September 2008 the amount of the construction works in Azerbaijan being carried out by the construction companies is 58.2% or AZN 2459.7mln more.
Of them, AZN 1896.0mln (77.1% of the gross volume) fell on the newly constructed buildings, AZN 330.5mln (13.4%) - capital repair, AZN 101.9mln (4.2%) - current repair, AZN 131.3mln (5.3%) - other works. The construction works by the private construction companies totaled AZN 1803.8mln and Public enterprises - AZN 655.9mln.
In January to September AZN 1.16bln were spent on construction-assembly work in Azerbaijan which is 153.8% higher than the same period of 2007.
In general, over the past nine months, AZN 6.28bln was invested into the construction sector of the country, which exceeds the indices of January-September 2007 by 138%. In particular, AZN 4.72bln was invested in the building of production facilities (increase for the year made up 130.2%).

According to the data provided by the State Statistics Committee, in January to September 2008, the housing area given into use made up 1,035,700 sq.m, an increase of 8% from the same period of the last year.
According to data by the State Real Estate Registry Service, in January to September, 92,400 kinds of real estate were registered in Azerbaijan.
The monitoring by the public organization Participants of Real Estate Market made clear that in August 207 construction companies constructed 550 new buildings. This indicator decreased as compared to the previous month. For instance, in April 2008, 580 new buildings were constructed in Baku.
In September, the volume of housing area given into use in Azerbaijan increased by 2.4 times as compared to September 2007.
According to the data provided by the State Statistics Committee, in September 149,700 sq.m of housing area was given into use as compared to 216,400 sq.m in September 2007.
In January to September, AZN 468.7mln ($564.7mln) was invested for the construction sector of Azerbaijan, an increase of 29.2% from the same period of 2007. In September AZN 63.7mln was invested for construction.
In January to September volume of production of construction materials in Azerbaijan increased by 3%.
Currently 92.6% of the construction materials is produced by the private sector.
