The Public budget income comprised 4096.2 million manats, or 24.8 percent of GDP in January-May 2010. This index increased by 1.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2009, the government said.
Public budget expenditures decreased by 1.7 percent and made up 3559.1 million manat (21.5 percent of the GDP). The surpluses of the budget totaled 537.1 million manat (3.3 percent of GDP).
The Taxes Ministry remitted 41.9 percent of all income, or 1715 million manat to the Public budget. The State Customs Committee remitted 365.5 million manat (with a special weight of 8.9 percent) in taxes and duties to the public budget and other sources- 2015.7 million manat (49.2 percent).
In this period a total of 754.8 million manats was obtained from VAT, or 18.4 percent of all income, 640.6 million manat (15.6 percent) - profit taxes, 221.7 million manats (5.4 percent) - income taxes, 164 million manat (4 percent) - excise taxes, 35.8 million manats (0.9 percent) - property taxes, and 54.2 million manats (1.3 percent) -royalties and 109.8 million manat (2.7 percent) -taxes from foreign economic activities.
In January -May 2010, the public budget expense for social security and provision of people comprised 531.9 million manats (with a weight of 14.0 percent), 412.9 million manat (11.6 percent) was spent on education, 131.6 million (3.7 percent) - health, 228/7 million (6.4 percent) - maintenance of prosecutor bodies, security and law-enforcement and court bodies, 1378.1 million (38.7 percent)- investment allocations, 68.1 million (1.9 percent) - housing and communal services, 112.8 million (3.2 percent) - agriculture, fishing, 18.4 million manat (0.4 percent)- transport and communications, and 33.8 percent (1203.8 million manats) of Public expenses were spent on the payment of salaries, pension and allowances.
