According to the State Statistics Committee, in January 2018, 3.6 billion manat accounted for the Azerbaijani consumer market, which is by 2.2 percent more than in January 2017.
The monthly consumer expenses are estimated at 371.1 manat per capita in January 2018 or by 23.9 manat more compared to January 2017.
The retail trade turnover amounted to 2.8 billion manat in January 2018, which is by 2.4 percent more than in January 2017.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, food trade (1,411.4 million manat) increased by 1.7 percent in real terms.
Some 1,383.2 million manat (3.0 percent of real growth) accounted for the retail sales of non-food items.
Paid services worth 737.5 million manat were rendered to the population in January 2018 or by 1.3 percent more compared to January 2017. Legal entities ensured 79.4 percent of this growth and rendered the services worth 585.9 million manat.
Every citizen of the country used paid services worth 75.4 manat per month in January 2018, which is by 3.1 manat more than in January 2017.
Transportation, public utilities and communication services prevail in the structure of paid services.
Prices
According to the State Statistics Committee, the prices on consumer goods and tariffs for services increased by 5.5 percent in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
The food prices increased by 6.9 percent, prices for non-food items - 5.1 percent, the price for paid services - 3.9 percent during the reporting period.
The food prices increased by 0.5 percent, non-food items - by 0.2 percent, paid services - 0.8 percent in Azerbaijan for the month in January 2018 compared to December 2017.
The base index of consumer prices, calculated except for the goods and services subject to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables) increased by 4.7 percent in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
The producer prices for industrial products increased by 4.7 percent in Azerbaijan in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
During the reporting period, producer prices in the mining industry increased by 7.6 percent, while in the manufacturing industry - 1.6 percent.
The producer prices for industrial products increased by 17.2 percent, while the producer prices in the mining industry - by 18.1 percent and manufacturing industry - 16.5 percent in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
