Most of construction work accounted for primary construction, reconstruction and expansion in January 2018, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.
Some 61.0 percent of the total volume of construction work accounted for primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 10.4 percent - overhaul, 8.5 percent - current repair and 20.1 percent - other construction work.
Some 83.2 percent of the total volume of construction work was carried out by non-state construction companies.
Some 121,000 square meters of housing were commissioned in Azerbaijan in January 2018, which is by 12.5 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
The capital investments in housing construction amounted to 52.9 million manat (a 74.7 percent increase) in January 2018.
Construction material market
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the construction materials worth 31.5 million manat were produced in January 2018, which is by 22.2 percent more than in January 2017.
The production of cement increased by 28.2 percent up to 173,800 tons, ready-mixed concrete - by 6 times up to 78,000 tons, building lime - by 33.1 percent up to 3,340 tons, asphalt - by 8.2 percent up to 2,800 tons, bricks - by 2.4 times up to 22,700 cubic meters in January 2018 compared to January 2017.
