Khamenei says North Korea, Iran have common enemy

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised North Korea's "anti-west" position, saying Tehran and Pyongyang have common enemy, Fars News Agency reported on September 1.

Arrogant countries never bear independent countries, Khamenei said during the meeting with

President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea Kim Yong Nam.

"It's necessary to keep the way without paying attention to pressures and sanctions to reach the major goals," he said.

Iran and North Korea, both has been slapped by the western sanctions because of their disputed nuclear programs.

International human right organizations put Iran and North Korea among the countries with extreme lack of free speech.

16th summit of NAM started on Sunday and finished on August 31.

NAM, an international organization with 120 member states, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. It represents nearly two-thirds of the UN members.
