Action of protest in front of Armenian government

The protesters gathering in front of the Armenian government every Thursday have moved to the area adjacent to Liberty Square.

Police cordoned off the government building, preventing the protestors from approaching it. The mothers of soldiers killed in Armenia's army told Tert.am that the police drove them away from the entrance.

The protesters formed a chain in parallel with the police chain. A 'Red berets' task force is now in the yard of the government building.

Staffers of the Armenian Ombudsman's office approached the protesters, talked to them and left. Members of the Heritage parliamentary group, Styepa Safaryan and Anahit Bakhshyan, are supporting the protesters. Responding to Tert.am's question whether last week's incident with Vaрdges Gaspari is not the reason for the police's conduct, Anahit Bakhshyan said, "If our authorities are afraid of Gaspari, woe to us."

Mr. Safaryan, in turn, noted that the authorities are thus ignoring the population's problems. The question is, therefore, whose problems are on the government's agenda.
