The Armenian government approved an agreement on the establishment of trade missions in the Armenian and Turkmen capitals on Thursday, Armenian ARKA news agency reported.

"We believe it is important, particularly given the trade and economic activity between the two countries over the past period," Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan said at a government meeting.

He also stressed that the opening of the missions will not require funds from the budget.

According to the National Statistical Service, foreign-trade turnover between Armenia and Turkmenistan amounted to $21.8 million from January-October 2012, or 18.3% less compared to the same period during 2011.
