The Armenian-Iranian relations are at a high level and continue developing in an atmosphere of mutual trust, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said during a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the Armenian media reports citing the Armenian government.

Abrahamyan said that the official visit to Iran will revive the economic ties and attract new investments.

President Rouhani said that his country is ready to assist in the implementation of joint programs.

The two sides stressed the importance of intensifying and expanding the cooperation in a number of areas, especially in the energy, agriculture and culture.

Abrahamyan and Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed regional security issues.

"The sides discussed regional issues and bilateral cooperation," said the statement.

The sides also discussed the issue of Armenia's joining the Eurasian Economic Union, highlighting the importance of cooperation in the international organizations.
