Artashes Tumanyan was appointed Armenian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Iran upon Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan's decree, News Armenia reported with the reference to the Armenian president's press-service.
Grigor Arakelyan was dismissed from the post of Armenian ambassador to Iran upon other decree.
Tumanyan was a member of the parliament, deputy foreign minister in different years.
He served as the head of the administration of the second president Robert Kocharyan in 2000-2006.
