Georgian Authorities' Conduct Amidst Protest is Farce – FM

Russia, Moscow /ITAR-TASS / The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow was concerned over what was happening in Georgia.

" Russia is concerned over what is happening in Georgia now; I'm convinced that the Georgian people deserve a better future and in this it can lean on Russia for support," Lavrov stated.

Lavrov did not comment on the Georgian president's statement, made in response to mass protests by the opposition in Tbilisi, but noting that the "farce which is accompanying the actions by Georgian authorities is obvious to everybody."
