Turkey Must Play More Active Role in Georgian-Abkhaz Conflict Regulation – Prime Minister

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgia considers Turkey must play more active mediatory role in regulation of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, Zurab Nogaideli, the Georgian Prime Minister, said in the interview to journalists. Nogaideli met with the Turkish Prime Minister, Rajap Tayyip Ardogan, on his one day visit to Turkey.

"We hope Turkey can play an active role in regulation of the conflict," Nogaideli said. The official Georgia has already submitted the new regulation format of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict to the UN.

Tbilisi expresses dissatisfaction in current mediatory of Russia. Georgia states that Russia is interested in support of separatists in Abkhazia and South Osetia.
