Turkish Defense Ministry Assists Georgia in Modernizing Military Airdrome in Marneuli

Azeerbaijan, Tbilisi / corr. Trend N. Kirtskhalia/ The Defense Ministry of Turkey will deliver radio engineering and navigation equipment to the Naval Forces of Georgia. According to the Defense Ministry of Georgia, delivery of the technical equipment will take place in the military aerodrome of the air forces in Mareuli ( South Georgia).

The delivery of the equipment is carried out within the bilateral grant agreement, according to which Turkey will provide military and technical assistance to Georgia.

It is worth mentioning that Marneuli military aerodrome was built by Turks with a grant worth $5mln.

The aerodrome will work on a twenty-four hour basis after the new navigation equipments are installed.

The key part of Georgia Air Forces is located in this airdrome, housing tens of helicopters.
