Romania to Send Watchdogs for Parliamentary Elections in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Romania will send watchdogs for the parliamentary elections in Georgia. Nino Burjanadzeh, Georgian Speaker, made this statement during the meeting with Nikolai Vakaroyu, Speaker of Romanian Parliament.

Further relations between the two countries, as well as the simplification of the visa regime and economic cooperation issues were discussed during the meeting. The Georgian Speaker appealed to Vakaroyu to render assistance, together with other NATO member-countries, for Georgia to join the MAP program.

There are plans to develop the agreement between the Georgian and Romanian Parliaments. Vakaroyu believes in friendly relations between Georgia and Romania and said the current year would be decisive for both countries as a year for elections
