Georgia, Tbilisi, 7 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ Establishment of united mine clearing system was discussed at the Georgian Armed Forced United Headquarters. Zaza Gogava, the head of the Headquarter, met with members of the International Antipersonnel Mine Victims Aid Fund.
The Fund has been functioning for 10 years and was established by the Slovenian Government.
According to Zaza Gogava, undestroyed mines remained in Georgia after withdrawal of the Russian military bases and this problem should be solved.
He said that initially the centre should be included in the Defence Ministry and after its strengthening should function independently.
