Georgian president is ready to give seats back to oppositionists in case agreement is reached with them, Mikhail Saakashvili said in his televised speech on Rustavi 2 television channel.

"Last year they admitted their defeat after parliamentary elections and gave up their mandates. But today we can discuss this issue if they agree to do so," he said.

"If they are willing to do so, I propose them to change law and give seats back to those who gained mandate. After all they were elected by people and protocols prove it," he said.

He said it will be possible to make responsible and coordinated decisions in case wide range of political forces of the country are represented in the parliament.

"If they refuse to cooperate, we will anyway step in the path of democracy, development of election legislation and development of cooperation. Sooner they change they mind, easier they will get into train before it speeds up," he said.
