U.S. Secretary of State Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar will not take part in the International Energy Summit in Batumi.
Georgian media reported that Morningstar arrived in Georgia Jan. 12 and has already left the country. He held a series of closed meetings in Tbilisi.
Morningstar was expected to represent the U.S. at the Batumi summit, hold meetings with state officials, and also with delegations from member countries of the summit.
However, after it became clear that the presidents of Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Poland will not visit Batumi, Morningstar left Georgia.
