Memorandum of understanding in connection with the tourism initiative on the Caucasus was signed in Tbilisi. The signing ceremony was held at the "Tbilisi Marriott". The document was signed by the Georgian Economy Minister Zurab Pololikashvili and Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai.

Memorandum of understanding in connection with the tourism initiative on the Caucasus was signed in Tbilisi. The signing ceremony was held at the "Tbilisi Marriott". The document was signed by the Georgian Economy Minister Zurab Pololikashvili and Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Taleb Rifai.

The Memorandum envisages strengthening Georgia's role as a state leader in the field of tourism in the southern Caucasus and the effective positioning of the region on the international market.

After signing the memorandum, Rifai said that Georgia has a great potential for tourism and its development, his organization is interested in its development. "We see Georgia as a strategic partner in the region," he said.

Taleb Rifai visits Georgia on Zurab Pololikashvili's invitation. During his visit he will meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
