The People's Assembly's rally was scheduled for 15:00 Tbilisi time.
All opposition members gathered at the square by this time (15:45). B ut the leaders of the movement have not addressed the people yet. U p to 3,000 people, who are waiting for the leaders of the People's AssemblyNino Burjanadze, Nona Gaprindashvili and others, gathered at the square.
The r epresentatives of the People's Assembly state that the police prevent the movement of their supporters from the regions to Tbilisi. However, some supporters managed to reach Tbilisi.
The movement through the square is blocked, although it is not filled and people are standing in groups waiting for their leaders.
Before the protests , "People's Assembly" has demonstrated its trailers on the air of the pro-opposition TV companies "Maestro" and "Kavkasia". They handed leaflets with slogans of the movement. The opposition members moved in their cars through the streets of Tbilisi by using megaphones on Friday. They urged citizens to come to Freedom Square on Saturday.
"At this stage, we can not state an exact number of people who will take part in the protest, but we are confident that we can completely fill the Freedom Square," the press-service of "People's Assembly" said.
