U.S. aid remains important to consolidate Georgia's democratic process. It strengthens the national consensus on the pro-Western orientation, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said, while opening the "Concordia" summit in New York dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack in the U.S.

I t is important for the U.S and the West to conduct an active foreign policy program that supports emerging democracies in the Caucasus, North Africa, the Middle East or other places, by deterring those who seek to suppress freedom and aiding those who have risked to gain it.

"I think it is our duty to share our experience in transitional democracy with our friends in the Arab world and other countries.
