New service that will conduct financial monitoring of political parties was launched at the Georgian Control Chamber on Wednesday. Relevant amendments to the legislation have already come in force.

New service that will conduct financial monitoring of political parties was launched at the Georgian Control Chamber on Wednesday. Relevant amendments to the legislation have already come in force.

Special forms have been already sent to the parties, on which they should submit reports to the Control Chamber.

Monitoring Service is headed by Natia Mogelidze. The first report shall be submitted by Feb.1.

At present, Georgia registered 210 political associations, but the Control Chamber is interested in the parties funded from the budget.

The day before the Control Chamber concluded an agreement with the National Bank of Georgia, which will provide all necessary financial records about political parties in the country.
