Georgian Foreign Ministry: Appointment of Richard Norland as U.S. ambassador does not change Georgian-American relations

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 2 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/

It is not important who will be the U.S. ambassador to Georgia during the parliamentary elections, Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said.

Kalandadze noted that Richard Norland's statements on Georgia were more informational than critical, and it is not important for Georgia who will be the U.S. ambassador.

"All the ambassadors of America are bearers of official policy in Washington, and the appointment of Norland will not change U.S. position towards Georgia. We still do not know when America will send a new ambassador. Presumably it will be spring" Kalandadze said.
