U.S. supports Georgia's initiative in connection with climate change

U.S. supports Georgia's initiative in connection with climate change

USAID Caucasus mission director, Stephen Heykin will hold presentation of a program on "Institutionalization of mitigating impact of climate change on Georgian regions and adaptation to them", which will be held at the Muza Cultural Center at 19:00 on Friday.

A meeting of the coordination group of interested individuals will be held at the presentation, which will be attended by representatives of internatiстивен хайкинonal organizations and NGOs, government agencies and local governments. They will discuss current issues of climate change and agriculture projects and needs, as well as coordination mechanisms. An art exhibition "Climate change impact on the arts" will be also held.

The program offers a major initiative, which aims at integrating of the issues related to environmental protection and climate change. It is fulfilled by the National Association of Local Government of Georgia with the support of USAID.

The U.S. government supports this initiative in Georgia as an important force in the sphere of effective management and protection of natural resources.
