Payment of the monetary compensation to the victims of floods in the region of Kakheti (Eastern Georgia) began. The compensation will be paid to the total of 18,685 families.
The process began from the village Acuri of Telavskogr area.
Issue of compensation is made through the local branches and mobile service centers of Liberty Bank.
Compensation is paid according to the categories. Families that fall into the first category of victims, will receive 1500 lari ($1 = 1.64 lari), the second category - 1000 lari, a third - 500 lari.
Most of the victims are included in the first category.
The disaster struck in the Kakheti region on the night of July 19. Houses, roads, power lines, the system of gas and water supplies have been damaged, crops, livestock and poultry were destroyed as a result of hurricane wind and rain and hail.
