The Georgian Defence Ministry is refusing to maintain the presidential aircraft. As Defence Minister Irakli Alasania said on Friday following a government meeting, annual service and maintenance of the presidential aircraft cost the Ministry 96 million lari ($1=1.66 lari).
"We cannot afford such expenditure and we will be exempt from them while planning the 2013 state budget," he said.
Alasania said that for these funds one can buy additional weapons and improve maintenance of soldiers and officers.
