Georgian Prosecutor General's Office is going to extend the investigative group studying the facts regarding the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in 2008, Georgian Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.

Georgian Prosecutor General's Office is going to extend the investigative group studying the facts regarding the Georgian-Ossetian conflict in 2008, Georgian Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, the Georgian side continues cooperation with the International Criminal Court on this issue in accordance with the international obligations.

Military action was launched in the Georgian region of South Ossetia on Aug.8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August of that year.
