A group of Georgian military men under the leadership of the deputy chief of the joint staff, brigadier general Vakhtang Kapanadze was sent to Afghanistan in connection with the disappearance of a Georgian soldier in the country. The Georgian Defence Ministry issued a statement in this regard.
According to the ministry, the search for a missing Georgian soldier who disappeared on December 19 is underway in Afghanistan. Search operations are being carried out by the command of the international security mission.
A coordination centre has been created by the Georgian Defence Ministry. The soldier's family is being informed about the progress of the search operations.
