Lithuania supports Georgia's political course on European and Euro-Atlantic integration, the European Club president under the Lithuanian Parliament Petras Auštrevičius said today.

"I hope that Georgia will remain leader of the Eastern Partnership," Auštrevičius said after a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze. "From this point of view we are ready for active cooperation, exchanging experience and political support."

Panjikidze is on an official visit to Lithuania, the Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend on Friday.

Panjikidze delivered a speech on 'Georgia's foreign policy after the parliamentary elections' at the European club under the Lithuanian Parliament.
Representatives of the Lithuanian executive and legislative branches, the diplomatic corps, scientific circles and leading media outlets attended the event.

Panjikidze spoke about the democratic change of power in Georgia and current processes after the parliamentary elections on Oct. 1, the priorities of the country's foreign policy and the integration process into the European and Euro-Atlantic organisations.

She added this was the first meeting in such a format with the Georgian new government.

During the visit, Maya Panjikidze will meet with the President, Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament and Foreign Minister.
