Former Georgian Prime Minister once again summoned for questioning to prosecutor's office

Former Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili and former Minister of Health, Labour and Social Security, currently the governor of Kakheti region, Zurab Chiaberashvili were summoned to the prosecutor.

As reported on Tuesday by the Office of the Prosecutor of Georgia, the aforementioned persons are summoned for questioning in the regional prosecutor's office of West Georgia in connection with employment program.

The investigation revealed that the National Movement activists, mainly those involved in the election campaign, were hired during the course of this program.

Alongside, over $ 3million was spent within this program, although its goals were not achieved.
More than two thousand former agents of the Ministry of Employment have already been interviewed regarding this case.

It should be noted that the present Secretary General of National Movement, Vano Merabishvili stated earlier that he takes full responsibility for the implementation of employment program, and asked prosecutors to leave alone ordinary agents, expressing his willingness to answer all questions.

Merabishvili has twice testified before the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Interior as a witness.
