Georgian Environment Protection Minister Khatuna Gogaladze with her first deputy Nino Sharashidze and representatives of the service on permit issuance visited Kazbegi region on Thursday.

The minister, together with the delegation and representatives of the Peri Construction Company and local officials became acquainted with the construction of Larsi HPP and Daryal HPP and also visited the Khada gorge, where the construction of Kazbegi HPP is to begin.

The Kazbegi HPP construction project at the Khada gorge on the River Broli with a capacity of six megawatts was submitted to the Environment Protection Ministry for ecological examination by the administration of the Kazbegi region on February 6, 2013.

A meeting is planned with the local residents. The meeting will be attended by Georgian Deputy Energy Minister Ilia Eloshvili and representatives of local non-governmental organisations.
