The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal against the decision of the Tbilisi City Court on the case of Mayor Gigi Ugulava.
The Prosecutor's Office considers the city court's decision illegal, the Court of Appeal told Trend on Thursday.
The City Court did not sentence Ugulava, who is accused under two articles on embezzlement and money laundering by the Prosecutor's Office.
The Prosecutor's Office demands the following steps be taken in regards to the mayor -bail of one million lari and he be given orders not to leave the country.
The Court of Appeals must make a decision within 72 hours after receiving the prosecution's claim of appeal.
