The official visit of the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia Archil Kbilashvili to Strasbourg is complete.
The Georgian delegation held important meetings in France. During the visit, Kbilashvili met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks and chairman of the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights Dean Spielman. European diplomats and high-ranking officials learned about unfolding events in Georgia personally from the chief prosecutor.
"During the official meetings, we discussed the ongoing reforms implemented with regards to legal institutions in Georgia. I have provided complete information on current events and answered their questions. I think there is a mutual understanding over the fact that the activities undertaken by the law enforcement bodies in Georgia fully comply with the law and the international law conditions. Senior diplomats give us assurance on their assistance in legal terms so that the exercise and performance of justice is conducted as provided for under international law. I think these meetings were very successful," Archil Kbilashvili said.
