Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with the situation in the zone of Georgian-Ossetian conflict and the establishment of a barbed wire on the border of Georgia's secessionist regions.
Ilia II expressed concern about the transfer of temporary borders of Georgia by Russian servicemen to the village of Ditsi.
"For our society it is a painful and unexpected action, especially against the background of trials of our countries to normalize relations, and achieving this is not easy for us against thw background of such a difficult political situation," the letter of the Georgian patriarch says.
The Patriarch expressed the hope that Vladimir Putin will as soon as possible take the appropriate measures to resolve the situation.
