Rustavi city court detained again four senior officials of Tbilisi City Hall, released a few hours ago.
Earlier, the court released them, acknowledging that they were detained with procedural violations.
Later, however, the court has considered the petition and the prosecutor's office decided to elect two months in prison as temporary security measure. The judge said that the prosecution has a strong case in favor of the embezzlement charge.
On Friday night, Financial Police of Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained four employees of Tbilisi City Hall. They were accused of embezzlement of 48,930,822 lari ($ 1 = 1.65 lari).
Financial police arrested the deputy mayor of Tbilisi David Alavidze, chairman of the Development Fund of Tbilisi David Avaliani, head of procurement of Tbilisi Alexi Tabuashvili and deputy head of the Tbilisi district Krtsanisi Dmitry Chkheidze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava said that judge was under pressure. The decision will be challenged in the Court of Appeal.
