The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) intends to invest $200 million in Georgia in 2013, EBRD president Suma Chakrabarti said during his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Bidizina Ivanishvili.
According to Chakrabarti, EBRD has established close contacts and business cooperation with Georgia.
"Currently, EBRD implements in Georgia 150 projects worth $1.5 billion, and we intend to expand the cooperation," the EBRD President underscored.
Chakrabarti noted that the Georgian Prime Minister helps the bank to define the priorities from the point of view of development of country's economy.
The EBRD President said that in addition to the assistance to financial institutions of Georgia, the bank in this stage is interested in investing in the spheres of tourism and energy.
In turn, the Georgian PM said that he presented in details the country's economy revining plans to the guest.
'We have agreed that within several months we will present a detailed plan of development of Georgia's economy," Ivanishvili underscored.
