The Georgian government's main goal is to restore the country's territorial integrity peacefully for nine months of the activity of Georgia's new Cabinet of Ministers, Georgian ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashanidze told journalists on Wednesday.
According to the ambassador, the main goals of the new government are the investments, European integration, a dialogue with Russia and the rule of law.
"The government conducts several reforms and changes in the structure and activity of state bodies," the ambassador said.
"The process of justice restoration is essential for Georgian people," he added. "While paying special attention at the rule of law, the current authorities punish representatives of the previous authorities. More than 1,000 complaints were filed against them."
The ambassador said that the representative of Prime Minister's administration - Agriculture Minister was also detained.
"So, the law is the same for everyone and has no political color, and the entire process is transparent," he added.
According to him, Georgia's relations with the West, including US, develop in a positive way, including a number of bilateral meetings and joint Georgian-U.S exercises.
According to the ambassador, the agreement on association with the EU is expected to be inked in November.
"Moreover, such issues as trade agreement and visa-free regime with the EU are also considered," the ambassador said.
