Within the official visit in Afghanistan the delegation of Georgian Defence Ministry held meetings in country's Defence Ministry.
Georgian Defence Minister Irakliy Alasaniya and deputy chief of Georgian Armed Forces Joint Staff, Colonel Vladimir Chachibaya were received by Afghan Defence Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi.
The parties discussed the issues of strengthening bilateral relations after completion of ISAF mission, Cooperation on Defence sector and training Afghan soldiers in the Georgian military schools, Georgian Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
As Irakliy Alasaniya stressed, the parties reached some agreements.
"According to one of the agreements, memorandum of understanding will be prepared and then signed between our ministries and it will give us a legal basis for a more active assistance in the construction of the Afghan armed forces. We will train Afghan soldiers in the Georgian military schools. Also in the future, after completion of ISAF operation, we will have the opportunity as a result of direct links to support the Afghan people, which is important not only for our bilateral relations, but also for the alliance," he said.
Also Irakliy Alasania attended the Georgian platoon located in Camp Phoenix in Kabul.
