Some 132 Georgian servicemen have returned home from Afghanistan.

Soldiers of the 42nd Battalion of the Fourth Infantry Brigade have been on tour for six months successfully performing tasks within the ISAF mission.

Georgian soldiers were carrying out a full range of operations with the support of the U.S. Marines.

The staff of the 42nd Battalion will return home in stages and before the end of this month. In Afghanistan, they will be replaced by a separate Batumi Light Infantry Battalion.

Soldiers at the airport were met by the Deputy Minister of Defence Irakli Gegechkori, Chief of Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Colonel Irakli Dzneladze and commander of the Fourth Infantry Brigade, Colonel Zaza Leladze.
