The Georgian president is freeing up the state-funded house in the Tbilisi district of Digomi. Georgian first lady Sandra Roelofs told media that the commission has already visited the residence and conducted an inventory.
"We are currently transporting personal belongings and items," she said.
Sandra Roelofs expressed regret that she has to leave the house where they lived for several years.
"But nothing can be done," she said. "We are ready to leave the house and take out our things."
It should be stressed that Mikheil Saakashvili himself was packing his things.
Saakashvili added that he and his family are moving into an apartment on Zandukeli Street near the Rustaveli metro station where his grandmother lived. She has already moved to live with the president's mother.
"They will live together," Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili will leave the presidential post after the presidential election on October 27 when a new president is elected.
Saakashvili has held the presidential post since January 5, 2004.
