The Central Election Commission of Georgia rechecked the information about the mass stuffing of ballot boxes in a number of polling stations during the presidential election, which takes place on Sunday.

According to the 'Democratic Movement - United Georgia' party, led by the presidential candidate Nino Burjanadze, the ballot boxes at the polling stations #26, 24, 26 and 58 in Marneuli (Kvemo Kartli region) were massively stuffed.

Georgian CEC spokesperson Eka Azarashvili said that information spread about the ballot box stuffing at several poling stations, but the Central Election Commission has re-checked this information, and it has not been confirmed.

Along with this she said that voting process was temporarily suspended at the polling station #9 in Zestafoni city (Imereti region) due to the fact that a voter damaged a ballot box. The Precinct Election Commission is investigating the issue and will make a decision on the resumption of the voting process.
