Organisational issues for the European Youth Olympics to be held in Tbilisi in 2015 were reviewed on Thursday by Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili along with the President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) Patrick Hickey.

The parties discussed prospects of Georgian sport and the Olympic Movement, the Prime Minister's press office said.

Ivanishvili stressed that Georgia is a sporting country and 35 Olympic champions are proof of this. He expressed the hope that Georgia will get the opportunity to host various world or European competitions.

"It is good that concrete steps are taken in this context. Tbilisi will host the 2013 European Wrestling Championships, the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival, as well as the European Weightlifting Championships," the Prime Minister said.

A representative of the Executive Committee of the EOC Guido de Bondy and Georgian Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs Levan Kipiani also participated at the meeting.
