Tbilisi, Georgia, Nov.7

By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend: Georgia has seen progress in rapprochement with Europe, but problems still exist, Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili said after a meeting with President of the Council of Europe Herman Van Rompuy in Brussels on Nov.7.

"Georgia again continues to make progress on the way of rapprochement with Europe. We simply do not have other alternatives," the president said. He tanked the European Council's president for his cooperation.

"I would like to thank president Rompuy who visited Georgia in a very crucial time and was a very good friend and adviser during all of these years," Saakashvili said.
