Formal Georgia-EU association agreement initialling ceremony held today

A formal initialling ceremony of the association agreement between Georgia and the EU will be held in Vilnius on November 29. Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will initial the political part of the agreement.

A formal initialling ceremony of the association agreement between Georgia and the EU will be held in Vilnius on November 29. Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will initial the political part of the agreement.

"The agreement will be signed on November 29 at 9:00 a.m.," Panjikidze said. "Its technical initialling took place on November 28. The ceremony will be held on November 29. The second agreement envisaging Georgia's involvement in the crisis management operations will also be signed."

According to Panjikidze, the part on deep and comprehensive free trade will be initialled by Georgian Economy Minister Irakli Kvirikashvili and EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht.

Panjikidze added that President Margvelashvili will hold several meetings with his counterparts in various countries within the Vilnius Summit.

Moreover, a few forums will be held within the summit attended by Georgia's representatives.
