By Nana Kirtskhalia - Trend: Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec. 9, 2013: U.S. President Barack Obama sent a letter to Georgian former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili.
"President Obama was pleased to cooperate with Ivanishvili during his term in office," according to the letter.
The U.S. president emphasized Ivanishvili's role in the country's democratic development and intensification of Georgian-U.S. relations.
Gratitude was also expressed for Georgia's assistance in joint efforts with the U.S in Afghanistan.
"I am looking forward to cooperating with Prime Minister Garibashvili," the letter says. "We will continue supporting Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration as well as its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the letter reads.
