European Parliament welcomes the initialling of the trade and association agreements between Georgia, Moldova and the European Union (EU) at Vilnius summit and expresses a hope that they will be signed as soon as possible, according to the European Parliament's resolution on the Eastern Partnership countries.
"The European Parliament calls on the European Commission to ensure that, the citizens of these countries were able to enjoy the benefits of these agreements in the short term," according to the resolution.
At the same time it is stressed that the EU's doors are still open for Ukraine.
"The European Parliament condemns Russian pressure on Ukraine, Armenia and other countries of the Eastern Partnership, imposed to stop the signing of agreements with the EU," the European Parliament said.
