Interrogation of Georgia’s former defence minister completed
Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec.24
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
The interrogation of Georgia's former Defence Minister Dmitry Shashkin has been completed.
Georgia's former defence minister spent almost an hour at the main Prosecutor's Office.
"It was a very inexplicit interrogation, which concerned the May 26 events. The testimony I gave for defence was clarified once again. I reiterated the innocence of Vano Merabishvili. I confirmed that I saw firsthand how Merabishvili ordered to take apart the metal barricades so that people would not die. Merabishvili did everything for that no one would be injured or die," Shashkin said.
Recall, Merabishvili is accused of abuse of power during dispersing an opposition rally on 26 May 2011.
