The Venice Commission is ready to help the Georgia in carrying out constitutional reform. This was stated after a meeting of president of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio and secretary of the Commission Thomas Markert with Georgian parliamentary speaker David Usupashvili.

After a meeting with the chairman of the Georgian parliament, the leaders of the Venice Commission met with members of the state commission on constitutional reform.

As it was stated at the meeting, the Venice Commission is ready to help Georgia at the expert level in the implementation of constitutional reform.

"The Venice Commission is ready to cooperate, that is welcome. We all agree on one thing - it is necessary to amend the Constitution. There are many norms that require a review and processing, but this does not mean that the Constitution should be changed completely," vice-speaker of Georgian parliament Zurab Abashidze said after the meeting.
