Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met with president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso as part of the NATO summit in Wales.

During the meeting the parties discussed the relations between Georgia and the European Union, as well as the prospects for the country's integration into Europe, the Georgian Presidential Administration told Trend Sept. 5. Moreover, the matter rested in the implementation of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the EU.

During the meeting President Margvelashvili stressed the importance of the ratification of this agreement by the EU countries.

He said that it is extremely important for Georgia to use the experience of European countries in the process of fulfilling the conditions of the Association Agreement with the EU.

The issues of regional security were discussed at the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the crisis in Ukraine and the Russian-Georgian relations.
