Tbilisi, Georgia, Sept. 12
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
Normalization of relations with Russia is one of the main issues for Georgia, Georgian Parliament's Chairman Davit Usupashvili said in Oslo, Norway on Sept. 12.
He made the remarks at a meeting with the Dutch Senate's President Ankie Broekers-Knol, held as part of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments in Oslo.
Usupashvili said the transfer of attention to Ukraine by Russia was unable to prevent Georgia and Moldova from signing an association agreement with the European Union.
"Georgia is slowly, but surely continues to move forward," Usupashvili said.
Ankie Broekers-Knol underscored the complexity of the process of settling the conflict in Georgia and Ukraine, stressing that there is a danger that this situation will spread to the Baltic countries and Poland.
